A year and a half after shooting his feature length documentary film « The Roots Remain » , street artist FONKi, a Montrealer of Khmer descent, returns to his family's homeland to share his artistic vision. FONKi paints the country’s walls while meeting local artists and people of the diaspora who, in step with the free-flowing rhythms of South-East Asia, are revolutionizing the Cambodian cultural scene.
FONKi World takes you on an artistic journey from Phnom Penh, the nation's capital, to the deepest reaches of the country-side, with a stop-over in Ho Chi Minh City, megacity of neighbouring Vietnam. The last episode takes FONKi home to Montreal, the city which welcomed him at 4 years old and forged his lifelong passion for graffiti. The web-documentary is an immersion in a world of street art, thrilled creative exchange and surprising discoveries.
